Impossible I'm afraid, as the Republic of Ireland aren't part of Britain, and therefore couldn't be considered. They chose to not compete as part of British teams way back when, and that's something I don't think they could go back on.

What's interesting is that Northern Irish people have a choice; either Britain and the crown or the Republic of Ireland. Who would you choose if you were an Ulster rugby player?

Not even going to pretend my geography skills exist when it comes to Ireland...which Heineken cup teams are N.Ireland based?

Besides that I think it's a cool thing that ruggers has been added in the 7s format to the Olympics. Great for the game.
